Summary of Event:
In honor of NewsTalk 590 WVLK’s 65th anniversary, Cumulus Lexington is hosting a celebration on Wednesday, November 7th at the Red Mile Clubhouse. Long-time WVLK personality, Jack Pattie will serve as emcee during the evening while several former University of Kentucky basketball athletes, who played under Coach Joe B. Hall, “roast” their former coach as he celebrates 40 years since he took the helm as head of coach of the men’s basketball team.
Price: $50 for one ticket, or $75 for two tickets. For each ticket purchased, the customer receives two “drink” tickets to be used during the 6pm-7pm cocktail hour. Customers can take their printed voucher to be “traded” for a dinner ticket to the Red Mile Clubhouse entrance, beginning when the doors open at 5:30pm (ON SALE: Friday, October 19h at 9am)
Program Outline:
5:30pm– Doors Open
6pm-7pm– Cocktail hour (includes hors d’oeuvre, beer and wine)
7pm – Dinner served(Southern Style Buffett)
Menu:
-Chicken Cordon Bluegrass, made exactly like the French favorite but with a Kentucky Twist using Country Ham
-Southern Fried Chicken
-Whipped Mashed Potatoes
-Mama’s Slow Cooked Southern Green Beans
-Mixed Greens Garden Salad Grape Totmatoes, Cumcumbers, Julienne Carrots and Red Cabbage, served with your favorite dressing
-New Orleans Bread Pudding with Kentucky Bourbon Sauce
-Baked Apple Cobbler

7:30pm – Program begins (Featured speakers, tentatively scheduled to appear - John Calipari, Denny Crum, Kyle Macy, Jack Givens, Kenny "Sky" Walker, Jim Host, Alan Cutler, Jimmy Dan Connor, Mayor Jim Gray.) Many former players from Coach Joe B. Hall's 1978 University of Kentucky men's championship basketball team and other notable University of Kentucky basketball alumni are expected to attend.
